We've updated notification settings to make it easier for you to choose the email and push notifications you want to receive.
PayAdvantage is enhancing how custom fields work for customer records. Previously, custom information such as department, type, or total spent could be submitted but not retrieved via the API, and only visible in the UI.
With this update, you can now view, add, and update custom field values via the API. This data will appear when retrieving customer or payment details, making it easier for merchants to track the information that matters most.
In the app, custom fields now display their actual names, no more confusing labels like “Custom Field 1.”
For more information, go to the Customer Field page.
Change Payment Account links are sent out without any reminders if they are not followed. This implements reminders to be sent out.
Webhook searches now support searching by webhook code, allowing you to quickly find and resend specific events when troubleshooting.

The payment portal was introduced for businesses who wanted a link where their customers are able to pay any amount they want. The complexity of this was that the customers could enter different user details each time and tracking the payments can be difficult.
A new enhancement has been introduce where a link can be given to a customer who is still able to pay the amount they want, but the portal has already loaded them as the customer so all payments will be made to the correct customer. The other enhancement is to allow reference look ups in the payment portal from external ID or customer reference number.
To generate a link that allows a specific customer to pay. Use the following link process.
https://hosted.payadvantage.com.au/[clienttoken]/portal?customerref=AAA
https://hosted.payadvantage.com.au/[clienttoken]/portal?bpayrref=AAA
https://hosted.payadvantage.com.au/[clienttoken]/portal?externalid=AAA
Using this link will ensure the correct customer is loaded and will allow them to enter in an amount and description for the payment.
To allow this screen to search by BPAY reference, customer reference or external ID.
Go to the “configure payment portal pay by reference” settings under configure payments settings menu item.
The screen below will allow you to select which items you will allow the merchant to search by.
NOTE: If a clash is detected where the external ID or the customer reference is not unique. It will raise and error to the user that this reference is not unique and to contact your merchant to resolve.
Enhance your payment intelligence with our new geolocation feature for API users. Now every transaction includes precise location data, allowing you to track exactly where payments originate.
This powerful addition enables more detailed analytics, improves your record-keeping capabilities, and provides valuable insights for business decision-making. Leverage this geographic intelligence to better understand your customer base and optimize your payment operations.

Stay effortlessly informed with our new dedicated Notification Center. We've streamlined your Pay Advantage experience by moving alerts away from the dashboard into an intuitive notification hub.
Look for the bell icon in the top-right corner—it animates when action items require your attention. This thoughtful redesign keeps your dashboard clean while ensuring you never miss important account updates.
The Notification Center prioritizes what matters most, providing clear pathways to address time-sensitive issues with a single click.
Take charge of your payment collection process with our new Payment Request Management screen. This powerful addition transforms how you track and manage customer payments.
Key capabilities include:
View, edit, or cancel existing payment requests in one centralised location
Track completed payment requests with comprehensive payment history
Monitor successful and unsuccessful payment attempts from your customers
Maintain complete traceability throughout the payment request lifecycle
This enhanced visibility eliminates the previous disconnect between payment requests and actual payments, giving you clear insight into your payment operations.
Payment requests continue to offer your customers flexible payment options while ensuring robust authorization protocols. With built-in security measures, many scenarios qualify for valuable chargeback protection.
We've refined our fee collection process to better serve merchants using our fee ledger system. Instead of waiting until month-end for fee collection, our new streamlined approach automatically processes debits every 3 days.
This strategic improvement eliminates the previous pain point where failed debits would accumulate until the next monthly cycle, potentially creating unexpected financial burdens.
The more frequent collection schedule ensures:
More predictable revenue flow
Smaller, more manageable fee transactions
Reduced risk of large accumulated charges
Greater financial visibility throughout the month
This enhancement demonstrates our commitment to developing features that support your business's financial stability and planning capabilities.

PayTo is Australia's newest digital payment solution that simplifies bank-to-bank transfers. You can initiate payment requests using either traditional BSB and Account numbers or modern PayID identifiers like phone numbers or email addresses. When you create a payment request, the customer receives a notification from their bank which can be approved through their banking portal. Once authorized, Pay Advantage processes the debit from their bank account.
Enjoy significantly lower processing fees compared to credit card transactions
Eliminate the risk of fraud-related chargebacks
Receive funds directly into your account within one business day

The Direct Debit interface has been redesigned into two dedicated screens for improved efficiency. This update reflects our analysis of user behavior, which showed that quick access to Direct Debit records is often the immediate priority. The new layout allows administrators to handle urgent searches instantly while managing other Direct Debits requiring actions at their convenience.

Customers are now prompted to enter their address when providing credit card details. We've enhanced the input field with address autocomplete, making it faster and easier to complete.
When a receipt is emailed to a customer, it will include a link to the online receipt, allowing them to track payment updates in real time. If the payment is pending or undetermined, they can check the latest status via the link. In the event of a refund, the receipt will be updated accordingly.
The Payment Portal and Hosted Pages have been upgraded to a sleek, modern design, creating a more seamless and enjoyable experience for customers. These improvements are based on user testing to ensure the best experience and encourage faster payments.
Payment links can now be edited directly on the same screen where they were created, providing a clearer and more streamlined workflow. The original QR code sent will also remain visible for reference.
The Virtual Terminal has been redesigned with a fresh, modern look. Payment options are now displayed more clearly, enhancing usability and preparing for the upcoming PayTo release. Additionally, the experience of sending payment links has been significantly improved.
Receive webhooks for changes to DDR subscriptions. When a DDR subscription frequency, amount or description changes you will now receive a webhook notification. This is useful in scenarios where you change the settings from the Pay Advantage portal and you require you backend to be notified about the changes. It is also very useful when a DDR amount change requires a customer to approve, you will be notified via a webhook when that has been approved and changed.

Customer payment accounts are a core feature of Pay Advantage, used to charge payments to a bank account or credit card. Each new bank account or credit card added for a customer creates a separate payment account.
Previously, these accounts were only visible when selecting a DDR, creating a payment, or via the API.
We’ve now introduced a new screen in the customer section, where you can view all associated customer payment accounts, including stored credit cards and bank accounts.
If a customer requests the removal of their payment account, you can now handle this on the new customer payment account screen. This action will prevent further charges to the deleted account.
However, if the customer has an active DDR, you won’t be able to delete the account until all DDRs are no longer using this Customer Payment Account.
If you accidentally delete a payment account, simply contact support, and they can restore it for you.
You now have the option to clone a successful batch, allowing you to recreate the same payments that were processed in a previous batch. This feature is especially useful if you need to repeat the same payments regularly with only minor adjustments.
When cloning a batch, all payment details from the original batch will be copied, so you can quickly make any necessary changes before processing the new batch. This saves time and ensures accuracy for recurring payments.
In response to customer requests, we’ve added the ability to create yearly recurring DDRs.
However, there are a few specific limitations for yearly DDRs:
The failed payment setting cannot use the options “Add to next payment” or “Append after last.”
DDRs currently set to another frequency cannot be switched to yearly.

We've updated the Fixed DDR process to ensure that a DDR is only marked as closed or completed once all payments have been successfully settled. This enhancement provides merchants with reliable confirmation, so they can confidently ship their products upon receiving the approval email.
The webhook screen now includes a search feature that lets you filter received webhooks by type. If needed, you can also trigger these webhooks to be resent. This allows for easy retrieval and reprocessing of specific webhook events, ensuring no important notifications are missed.
When a user logs in, their browser details are tracked, allowing them to navigate the app without needing to log in again. These browser session details are now visible to the user. Users also have the option to revoke sessions, ensuring they can log out of any devices they believe to be unsafe or potentially compromised.
Previously, adjusting individual settings for receiving updates on receipts or failures was difficult to navigate. Now, a direct link to these settings is conveniently displayed on the DDR settings screen for each customer.
Settlement emails now include the merchant's name, making it easier for clients with multiple accounts to identify which account each settlement email pertains to.
We'll now notify you via email if we're unable to retrieve funds from your nominated bank account, allowing you to proactively update your bank details.
We've received great feedback from our clients about how beneficial Apple Pay and Google Pay are for their customers, significantly speeding up the checkout process. To enhance the customer experience, all new accounts will now automatically be enabled for Apple Pay and Google Pay.
PayTo is now available in Beta mode for merchants, offering a new way to accept real-time payments beyond credit cards. Built on the foundation of PayID, PayTo allows merchants to instantly collect payments directly from customers' bank accounts with their authorization via their banking app.

To simplify viewing a payment and its associated DDR, we have added a "View Details" link. Clicking this link will take you directly to the relevant DDR.
To accommodate the introduction of partially charged-back payments, we have updated the way chargebacks are handled and reported in Pay Advantage.
Chargebacks will no longer be shown as failed payments. All previously failed payments due to chargebacks will be brought back to a successful payment with a chargeback associated.
Chargebacks can be viewed from the payment summary screen. The details of the chargeback can be viewed on the receipt.
